Hotel Staff were really friendly and the parlour and guest lounge was very cosy by the fire. Great winter retreat.
Desperate need of renovation in the rooms, we asked to move from the first room as it appeared grimey. Hotel indoor pool was not heated and it wasn't clear this was the case upon booking.
Pool room and 2 log fires
Friendly and helpful staff. Atmosphere of faded gentility.
Breakfast inedible. Had to go somewhere else. Couldn't get lamps and electric blanket to work. Vastly overpriced.
The breakfasts were absolutely fantastic ... compliments to the chief. Love the little intimate areas with games or just quiet time spaces.
No car park space. (I do have complaints though)
The people, the homely feeling, the food
Open fire/ lounge area; pool table/ games etc; location
Small bed; slightly musty smell in room
Staff where wonderful, Motel is old and creaky but relaxed. Would not stay if light sleeper, good location, handy.
We liked nothing about this hotel. An absolute disaster of a hotel - luckily so far the only one on our Aussie trip but not worth even 10% of the aud 160 / night we paid .........terrible terrible terrible and until this victorian style disaster of a hotel gets a complete make over don't even think of visiting this one . the beds are camper beds (the folding variety), stuff from a previous occupant, and paper thin walls ....... grrrrrrr never ever again
Everything in this hotel can be classified in the not like category
The Hotel had a pleasant old world feeling, so different to the usual modern chain of hotels that you would normally find. It was very refreshing to acutally meet the people who own and run the hotel.
The location and guest lounge room. The staff were friendly but had no idea how to serve customers
The food was practically inedible, particularly the breakfast. I also would not like to stay during winter, as it was poorly heated.
Best thing was the herritage look off inside the loungerooms and service, food and staff I will tell everyone abouted and will cameback againe
Please fix the bathrooms up it kills the romance and I m a plumber I can help ?
Friendliness of staff.
Bathroom needs a lot of attention, particularly the shower recess. The old small tv should be replaced with a digital flat screen.
The room we had was quite large and roomy unfortuantely it was also directly outside their large neon light sign (which we rectified by putting up a balnket over the window). Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel has a rustic feel to it like something from a bygone era. Breakfast was good and the dinner we had in the restaurant was well priced and nice. The pool was icy cold and could do with heating.
An old world hotel with lounge room, open fire, pool table and board games, great for relaxing with friends. The beds were comfy but the place is certainly in need of a makeover which we were told will be starting soon.
I enjoyed the fact it is a 1922 built hotel with furnishings etc. of that era. Downside is no lift or central heating/air conditioning. Staff were very friendly and helpful and for a few days stay in the Blue Mountains suited our purpose ideally being mid-way between the railway station and Echo Point/Three Sisters. The stop for the Explorer bus and trolley bus is just a couple of yards from the hotel.
No lift or central heating - the day we arrived it was very cold at night and all there was in the room was a free standing heater, although I did later discover there were electric blankets. Cleaning was not as good as it should have been and one of our windows was cracked.
